Day 258

Today was a BUSY day! I went and helped my Mom at the Doctor's office for a few hours. While I was there she was trying to find someone to help her with some yard work. She has a HUGE yard and she is very busy with her business so she pays people to do the huge products. We moved pond muck (yeah it smelled awesome!) We had to move it from the side of the pond (see the top picture) and the move it to the other side the yard. It easily took 35-40 wheelbarrow trips. And since it was wet soil it wasn't light! Richard and I did it and I am so proud of what we did and my Mom said we did a great job! Yay!
While we are moving the muck the kids ran around (or in Alice's case just sat there) and played outside. Evan decided he didn't need clothes, silly boy!

Then thinking I am superwoman I went home and worked on the bathroom some more!

Day 257

We have lived in our house for 4 1/2 years. We moved in when Toby was just a few months old. It was very much so outdated and needed some repairs etc etc. We kept putting it off saying we would do it later, and never do it. So I had enough. We needed to finish the upstairs bathroom. We replaced the bathtub with a shower/tub combo 3 years ago and never finished it. We have older than your grandpa high traffic carpet in the kitchen, hallway and bathroom. Yeah I have 3 boys that make messes and when you have carpet in the kitchen it's just not a good combo same goes with the bathroom and carpet and little boys. They tend to splash in the tub, enough said! So we kept putting off replacing the floor thinking it was going to cost WAY more than we thought. Then we did the math and realized it was going to cost 1/2 of what we thought! What!??! Ya I was thrilled to say the least! We had to pull the flooring out clear down to the baseboards because the flooring below was just too old to reuse! We started the project tonight you can see the old nasty looking floor! I can't wait to post updates as for the next several months the house is getting a make over! Once I have the bathroom finished I will replace the fugly pink carpet in our room and Alice's room. Then I will re paint the upstairs rooms. After that is finished we are going to finish Avery's room and the downstairs bathroom along with painting/putting in carpet in Toby and Evan's room. By this time it should be spring time, and we will order a dumpster to clean out the backyard. We have the tools/seeds to re seed the backyard so we will be doing that right before winter comes so it will be ready for spring! Thankfully I have awesome parents that have a TON of tools and most important the knowledge to finish all these tasks. Thankfully it shouldn't be a lot of money. My goal is to have all these projects in the house for less than 1500. So far I am track to doing this! Paint doesn't cost a lot of money but makes a room look ten times better! My biggest expense will be carpet and the wood to re do Avery's room. I am watching KSL and Home Depot for the best prices with everything I am going to need. I also learned from my Dad the best places and where to watch to get the best prices for Sheet-rock! My big goal is to have a HUGE party for Alice's first birthday. Plan on having it on Saturday June 1st. So that gives me 9 months to get the house & myself looking uber awesome! And I love that I have my blog to capture this awesome journey!

The Bathroom right after we started pulling up carpet

The Bathtub after we got the compound and the sheet rock put up

Day 255

I am still working out Mon-Fri. I am still learning all the different options I have on this dang machine. I still walk away sweating (something I normally never do) I still workout between 35-45 minutes each morning and still feel great after each work out. I still drink a TON of water, IE 120 oz a day. I just stopped using the scale. I was told to base it on my jean size not my weight. I stopped stressing and I keep pushing forward. I still need to find the picture of me at Avery's First birthday. My goal is to wear the outfit I wore then on his first and wear it at Alice's birthday. I may have a few bad days when it comes to eating healthy but my goal is to keep pushing forward and I will make it!

Day 254

Who's the odd Mom who puts their kids in pants and hoodies on the first cold day!?! Ya! This Mom does! I am the strict Mom that makes her kids get 12 hours of sleep a night, who makes them wear warm clothes in the cold, who makes them eat vegetables at lunch/dinner, who makes them take naps when they are cranky or in Evan's case everyday. Yup I am that Mom. But you will not see my kids sick all winter unlike some people I know and their kids. I know someone who once told me that her kids don't like vegetables so she doesn't even try anymore and then wonders why her kids are always sick!?!?! I Love my boys!

Day 252

I bought the boy's winter jackets this past spring when they went on clearance, Evan's jacket was a 25 dollar jacket that I got for 6 bucks! Avery's was a 17 dollar jacket I got for 3 bucks and Toby's was a 15 dollar jacket I got for 3 dollars as well! Score! Anyways, I had them try them today today to see how they fit, all fit great! However Evan REFUSED to take his off for a good hour. He was quite pissed at me when I suggested to take it off. He's throwing a hissy fit, his newest trick that I am not a fan of.
